PG-43: Music

4. You Might Hear Me Tell You

(PG-43)
I can remember as far back as the seventh grade trying to build up the courage to ask a classmate to go to a dance. Somewhere in the midst of that agony, I learned that someone else had already asked. I truly think I never would have done it, and even recall feeling a sense of relief that the issue was settled. In high school I remember thanking God for Sadie Hawkins dances. I certainly wasn't going to turn anyone down. I welcomed the chance to play that game from the other end. By college I had matured to new levels of bravery. I met my wife when she was dating another fellow on my baseball team. When she became a free agent, I stepped up to the plate. I hit a homerun.
LYRICS

Alone again - But we're just friends - And I know - You belong to him
But my admiration - Grows inside - And I'm not sure - That I can hide
This feeling - That I'm in love with you

So I'd better go - I shouldn't stay - I don't know - What I might say
I've got a fear - That when you're near - I might slip - And you might hear
Me tell you - I'm in love with you

In my dreams - I have the courage - To tell you - The way I feel
I always - Find the words which - Convince you - My love is real
As I - Take your hand - Touch your face
Hold you - In sweet embrace
I tell you - I'm in love with you

Then I awake - I start to quake - Did I make some big mistake?
Then it comes to me - This was fantasy - You still don't know my - Agony
Concealing - That I'm in love with you

Now I fear - this situation - Has gone beyond control
And in my - desperation - You might hear me bare my soul
But it seems your heart - Is bound so tight - That I don't feel I have the right
To tell you - I'm in love with you

So I'd better go - I shouldn't stay - I don't know - What I might say
I've got a fear - That when you're near - I might slip - And you might hear
Me tell you - I'm in love with you
