PG-43: Music

5. Please Don't Tell Me Arrivederci

(PG-43)
I have two sisters who are in second marriages with men who are in their second marriages as well. I'm not saying it's the better way to go about it, but the successes of their second times around suggests that they may have adjusted their game plans during half-time. Can't you just hear John Gray asking those Martians and Venusians to recall what it was that brought them together in the first place? The stars of this song are still lasting another day.
LYRICS

I say it's black
I say it's white
We're at it once again
We lose our heads
We start to fight
We say things that offend
But when it gets to threats - Of breaking up - I know to say
Please don't tell me - Arrivederci - I wouldn't last a day

The stress reminds me of - The one I used to love - Now she's my ex-wife
And with divorce I'd find - I'd lost half my mind - And part of my life
So I've been there - And I've done that - And it's really not the better way
Please don't tell me - Arrivederci - I wouldn't last a day

I'm begging you PLEASE - Let's give it one more try
I'm down on my KNEES - I can't take another good-bye

You were beautiful - Smart and practical - You'd be the perfect mom
You were strong and wise - I knew you'd provide - Everything I'd ever want
Feelings that brought us together - Will make us want to stay
Please don't tell me - Arrivederci - I wouldn't last a day

I'm begging you PLEASE - Let's give it one more try
I'm down on my KNEES - I can't take another good-bye

I still see black
I still see white
But now we see some gray
And there are times
When we still fight
But it never ends that way
We remember why we fell in love - And we both stop and say
Please don't tell me - Arrivederci - I wouldn't last a day

Please don't tell me - Arrivederci - I wouldn't last a day
