PG-43: Music

7. I Still Want To Be In Love

(PG-43)
I think it's common in the post-43 years to discover that we've evolved from the young-and-in-love mode of operation to the middle-aged-and-taking-things-for-granted way of life. Loving each other and BEING IN LOVE follow different scripts. Being in love is fun. Remember when you unabashedly did whatever your heart told you to do? There's no reason why that can't resume tomorrow.
LYRICS

I can still recall - when we were young in love
And the sweet things we would do
Wine and cheese by candlelight - Watchin' falling stars at night
Weekend getaways for two

I still want to be in love - holdin' hands - best of friends
I still need to hear you say - you just called about my day
Let's relive the times when we - liked doing things just you and me
I still want to be in love

I remember when - we had only time to spend
Yet we didn't need a thing
Wrapped up in each others arms - seemed like all the world was ours
Felt like every day was spring

I still want to be in love - holdin' hands - best of friends
I still need to hear you say - you just called about my day
Let's relive the times when we - liked doing things just you and me
I still want to be in love

But the years of careers - and kids to rear - has changed our ways
The love's still here - but the fun did not survive
Now I miss those things we did in our younger days
That showed how much I cared for you - and made it good to be alive

I N S T R U M E N T A L I N T E R L U D E

I still want to be in love - holdin' hands - best of friends
I still need to hear you say - you just called about my day
Let's relive the times when we - liked doing things just you and me
I still want to be in love

I still want to be in love - wine and cheese - falling stars
I still want to be in love - feels like spring - in your arms
I still want to be in love - holding hands - best of friends
Let's relive the times when we - liked doing things just you and me
I still want to be in love
