PG-43: Music

1. Band Camp Body

(PG-43)
I never was in a high school marching band, but one of my younger sisters was. I did watch her band perform once at a contest in the fall. They must have put in a lot of hours of hard work to be able to perform the way they did. I wondered if it could really be that much fun. Well, I learned later that the incentive to participate was summer band camp. Everyone's hot in August.
LYRICS

Since football season my freshman year
I've had this ringing in my ear
When a 240 linebacker tried cuttin' my life short
Then it just so happened I found out
What the marching band was all about
And how summer camp was a coed contact sport

It was a band-camp body - that knocked me out of football
It had nothing to do with contusions or a broken bone
It was a skin-tight, rebel-red tank top
And short-shorts that didn't know where to stop
And all I had to do was learn to play the saxophone

Now there was one cute girl who could really strut
And I wanted to march right behind her but
I didn't know my whole from my quarter note
So she tutored me in her backyard
And every day I was working hard
And after I learned to score it was all she wrote

It was a band-camp body - that knocked me out of football
It had nothing to do with contusions or a broken bone
It was a skin-tight, rebel-red tank top
And short-shorts that didn't know where to stop
And I could slip by if I could play the slide trombone

Tuba tuba tube tooooba - tuba tuba tube tooooba - tuba tuba
If you can play tuba you'll never spend your nights alone

It was a band-camp body - that knocked me out of football
It had nothing to do with contusions or a broken bone
It was a skin-tight, rebel-red tank top
And short-shorts that didn't know where to stop
Get a band-camp body - and you can hold your own
